This is awesome. When I heard Borknagar’s latest record, I remember thinking “man I want a whole album that sounds like Up North”. This is not quite that, but the giant 70s guitar leads, Hammond-esque keys, and Lars at the vocal helm make for a killer package. owhotcoffee

WOW! This album strikes like a thunderclap and throws you into a churning hailstorm interspersed with glorious color as the light refracts from the crystals. A howling, turbulent, thrashing sea and pelting rainy gale upon the rocky mountainside. Enslaved also maintain their crown of “progressive:” not wanky noodly noodly stuff, but thought-provoking, unexpected, and COLORFUL shifts and turns of rhythm, chord, key, and mood. Very Rush-like. A true privilege to see them at Fire in the Mountains. pinkytheent

It's really hard to pick a favorite Enslaved album but this one is in my top 3. Intoxicating atmosphere and excellent songwriting. This is a 10/10 album 9RnK7
Blackened hardcore with the sheer heady power of stadium crust and the glacial melodies of second-wave black metal. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 10, 2023

A lot of bands play a dark, gripping, and deeply emotional sound, but no one does it quite like Gaerea. Ive loved all their stuff up to this point, but they have truly topped themselves with Mirage. I believe this album is a masterpiece. seven skeletons
